The Anatolian Elevatorists Association (ANASDER) published a declaration, reminding the building administrations regarding the use of elevators in residences in the fight against the corona virus, and announced the list of measures it determined.

Acording to decleration; "It has been stated by experts that the corona virus that causes COVID-19 disease continues its disease-causing effect for up to 3 hours in the air and 2-3 days on the plastic or stainless steel surface. It is stated that the infection is transmitted by airway and by direct or indirect contact. In the light of the information, the cabin of the elevators, the door handles, the handles and especially the cabin, floor buttons cause the transmission of the virus by indirect contact.In air-borne places such as elevators, airborne contamination will continue for a long time and poses a significant risk for buildings. it is understood that the building administrations are authorized with the measures that should take the duties and powers of the manager.

Our recommendations for the spread of the Corona virus;

- Use of elevators should not be preferred whenever possible.

- If the compulsory use of elevators is necessary, the use of a mask to prevent the visible or invisible droplets from spreading to the environment during the speech or not talking during the movement in the cabin. One meter safety distance or people standing back to back in the cabin rather than face to face

- Not being used in full carrying capacity to prevent people from getting stuck in elevator cabin

- Handles, door handles, button surfaces, mirrors, cabin walls of the elevators in the buildings should be disinfected by the building administrations several times every day.

- Placing hand disinfectant products in the entrance and exit areas of elevators.

- Gloves or masks used in boarding the elevator cabin (since it is not known that the people who will use the elevator are infected), disposing of used gloves or masks in litter cans with lids, not throwing them into the elevator cabin.

- Elevator cabin internal ventilation is working.

- In case of continuing to use the elevator, it should be ensured that maintenance personnel take necessary protection measures in monthly periodic maintenance.

- Unless needed, cleanings that will cause dust should not be done.

- No smoking should be allowed in elevators cabin.
