The eyes of logistics giants are on Istanbul

The investment route of global logistics companies have changed due to the shift of the world production axis. The new opportunities to be created by China's Belt and Road (OBOR) project attract the giants of the sector to the region. Companies are choosing Turkey, which is a bridge between Europe and Asia, for investment. While existing foreign companies are opening new lines, new players are also entering the market. In March, Trans Global Projects (TGP), which is a British logistics giant - the British company -  opened its first office in Istanbul, then Romania-based P & O Ferrymasters also opened an office in Istanbul last week.

Hong Kong-based Kerry Logistics opens a new railway and the road line through a new investment with 50 trucks’ between China and Turkey.

TGP has become the first logistics company to enter the market of Turkey this year. The company opening an office in Istanbul, serves in the fields of project logistics management, ship chartering, airline logistics, supply chain management, logistics consultancy and supplying areas. The company, through its office in Turkey, is aiming to establish a logistics network among the customers in Europe, Middle East / Central Asia. Murat Aksu, the head of the company, has emphasized that they will locate Turkey positioning as a regional transit hub especially in project transportation. P & O FERRYMASTERS, through the first office in Istanbul, expands the Pan-European logistics network towards Turkey. These investment allows customers in Western and Eastern Europe to access the markets of Middle East and Central Asia via daily departures from Turkey.
